The sole purpose was to shoot enough pics with the EFS 10-22 to demonstrate its field of view. All this for folks interested in buying my lens and had asked me for some pictures. Since I had few pics with it, I decided more were needed…

The weather was utterly overcast with just occasional streaks of light trickling through the thick cloud cover. I had to spend time waiting to get even the bare minimum light.

Took a path over the rock and got a ‘wide’ perspective of the temple atop it.

Temple

None of the pics here have been sharpened. I have only done vertical cropping. The horizontals are intact (even though some pics could have gained with a bit of width crop too).

The min aperture of 3.5 isnt forgiving in low light. My 7D’s improved ISO did help though. The lens undoubtedly is very sharp at the center and sharper than I expected (wide open) at the corners. What may appear as ligh falloff at the edges is intentionally added in post processing. I dont have any filters for its 77mm diameter.

A short walk over to the rock and these beautiful trees caught my attention. This picure really made my day.

Twins

The light on them may appear sufficient but all that has been recovered in PP. The day as I said was very cloudy with a few drops here and there too.

The rest are some ususl scenes from Lalbag. The morning walkers, people doing exercises and people just enjoying the morning breez. All in all this is not the true test of the lens’s enormous field of view. 10mm on a crop sensor gives you 16mm in 35mm equivalent. Its an ideal lens for landscapes and architecture where sometimes a flattering bend (distortion) of walls and structures etc adds a sort of ‘height’ to the scene. I shot a wedding with it and it was indispensable during the ‘barat’, the family photos and especially the fireworks in the sky with the bride and groom admiring it from ground (all in one single portrait orientation).

Morning Walk

The following two are HDRs.
